Proposed Exterior Property Maintenance / Property Conditions Code legislation - We all want great neighborhoods - which may be why the vast majority of Fort Collins is governed by neighborhood or development HOA’s. But HOA’s have immediate resident representation and are small, so that new rules and regulations that make no “quality of life” sense can be reigned in. We also live in the west, where people expect to be able to show a little individualism. The Fort Collins Board of REALTORS® opposes any legislation which disregards the rights of the property owner, the rights of the Home Owners’ Associations to enforce their regulations, and the rights of those (whether they can afford it or not) who might be required to maintain their home in someone else's aesthetic ideal.
