The Fort Collins Board President appoints members to committees and advisory groups on an annual basis. Participating in committee activities is one of the best ways to hone your leadership skills, to learn all about what the Board has to offer, and to connect with and learn from fellow real estate professionals. FCBR invites you to participate on its 2007-08 committees and advisory groups.
Communications Committee is responsible for publication of FCBR's Board Talk Newspaper, developing themes and content for online and email communications to FCBR Members, and for monitoring the development, maintenance and effectiveness of FCBR's web site. Education Committee is responsible for setting out a continuing education agenda for the year, including scheduling and promoting both general required and specialized educational opportunities for FCBR members. Committee Chairman: Lorri Jones Staff liaison:
Events Committee is comprised of several subcommittees that belong to the FCBR tradition: Membership Meetings, Awards Luncheon, Holiday Party, Bowl-a-thon, Government Affairs Luncheon, Installation Ceremonies and Luncheon. In addition, the Events Committee works closely with the PSF Committee to assist in putting on fundraisers. Committee Chairman: Joni Crist. Staff liaison: Linda Majchrowicz
Government Affairs Committee works with staff to help the leadership to set the public policy agenda of REALTORS® in the Fort Collins area. The committee is comprised of Realtor® and Affiliate members. The FCBR President appoints the Chair. The Chair and President appoint committee members and work to ensure diverse and inclusive representation from around the Fort Collins area. Meets bi-monthly. Committee Chairman: Eric Kronwall. Staff liaison: Michelle Jacobs.
Grievance Committee is made up of REALTOR® members who are responsible for reviewing ethics complaints and arbitration requests that have been filed with FCBR. The committee determines whether or not to forward cases to the Professional Standards Committee for hearings. Completion of professional standards training seminar is required. Meets as necessary, no more than monthly. Committee Chairman: Pam Standen Staff Liaison: Mary Rudolph
Professional Standards Committee is responsible for enforcement of the REALTORS® Code of Ethics and facilitation of the FCBR arbitration process. Committee compilation must include a wide representation of brokerages. Members of the committee are assigned to sit on hearing panels in both ethics and arbitration cases. Attendance at professional standards training seminar is required. Professional Standards Committee members must have served at least one term on the Grievance Committee. Committee members serve on hearing panels as necessary. Chairman: Mary Baldwin. Professional Standards Administrator: Mary Rudolph
PSF (Political Survival Fund) Committee is charged with raising funds for the REALTORS® Political Action Committee. The committee, in coordination with the Events Committee and FCBR staff, plans fundraising events as well as marketing campaigns. Staff Liaison: Michelle Jacobs.
