Position Description


Function

Key contacts serves as the primary political liaison with the Council Member to whom they are appointed.

Eligibility

To serve as a key contact, a person must:

  1. Be a registered voter, if a United States citizen.
  2. A Council member may have more than one Key Contact provided that the Key Contact(s) respond to calls to action and coordinate amongst themselves regarding meetings, interim meetings, check presentations, etc.

It is also HIGHLY recommended that key contact applicants have made a minimum $25 investment or pledge by REALTOR® Day at the Capitol in PSF in the year of appointment, and each year thereafter so long as they remain a key contact.

Requirements/Activities

  1. Reside within the Council district in which appointment is made, whenever possible.
  2. Serve the Board as key contact for the same term as the elective term of their Council member.
  3. Serve as the principal Council contact for all FCBR Calls-to-Action and work with the local Board to activate members in effectively responding to the Calls-to-Action. Email addresses should be provided to staff for communication purposes.
    • Establish a working relationship with the Council member.
    • Inform FCBR of his or her Council member’s response to Calls-to-Action.
    • When Key Contacts are asked to contact their Council member and they choose to do so outside of FCBRs’ call to action email system, the Key Contact will immediately notify FCBR staff that action has been taken.
  4. Communicate to FCBR local government issues, which may require FCBR Government Affairs Department involvement.
  5. Must meet on a regular basis with their Council member in their district.
  6. Assist in the presentation, whenever possible, of PSF contribution checks to his or Council member
  7. Serve the Board as Key Contact during the election term of the Council member.

Remedy

The Chair of PSF in conjunction with the Chair of Government Affairs is responsible for compliance, if a key contact is unable, or fails to fulfill the above requirements/activities.
